A 1930s, rare, large steel rectangular vintage Omega watch. The case measures 25 x 39 mm (including lugs), with 18mm lugs. The case, with decorative flared sides, is signed Omega, Acier Staybrite, Fab. Suisse and numbered. The T-17, manual wind movement is signed Omega, Swiss Made, with 15 jewels and numbered. The two-tone silvered dial has black Arabic numerals to the quarters, with a burnished silver outside minute track,  subsidiary seconds dial and fine blued steel ‘modernes’ hands. The dial is signed Omega above the centre.

Omega Calibre T-17 movement 

In the early 1930s, Omega introduced their excellent tonneau shaped calibre T-17 as an ideal movement for use within rectangular and other ‘shaped’ cases. The T-17 quickly gained a reputation for reliability and quality and today is one of the watchmaker’s most highly regarded vintage movements. This calibre was specially housed in a protective soft metal, anti-magnetic, movement cover.
