My interest in watches began whilst studying jewellery and silversmithing. The fascination for their intricate engineering and design led me to a four-year apprenticeship in horology, with a grant awarded by the late Dr George Daniels CBE FBHI, master of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers.
From him I inherited a devotion to these miniature masterpieces of time-keeping, a commitment to their preservation and a love for the history that each timepiece represents; hours of craftsmanship, designs that combine practicality with beauty, and a line of continuity with the great watchmakers of yesteryear that we at Oldetimers are delighted to continue.
My passion for pre-1950s wristwatches led to the launch of Oldetimers.com, with the desire to keep these wonderful timepieces alive and ticking into the future. The workmanship that goes into each watch, from the mechanical movement to the fine detailing of the case, is exceptional, with the emphasis being on preserving a loyalty to traditional watch-making practices striving to restore these watches to their original condition.
The forerunners of today’s modern watches are works of art that deserve to be treasured and appreciated, worn and enjoyed.
