A truly stunning, rare 18ct gold Rolex wristwatch, evocative of the decadent ‘Roaring 20’s’!

A 1928, extremely rare 18ct two-colour gold square vintage Rolex wristwatch. The square gold case is curved to the wrist with flared sides, decorative scrolls to the lugs with personal engraving to the back ‘Rex from Margot, January 26th 1935’. The case measures 27 x 41 mm (including lugs) with 24mm lug size. The case (reference 912) is signed  Rolex, 7 Worlds Record, Geneva-Suisse, marked 18K and numbered to the back. The manual wind, Rolex Prima movement is timed to 6 positions, for all climates with 15 jewels. The champagne dial has Arabic numerals, with a subsidiary seconds dial and fine blued steel ‘Breguet’ hands. The dial is signed Rolex above the centre.

This design of case was clearly influenced by the design of the ‘Rolex Prince’ which was being made at the same time.

This design was marketed as ‘An elegant gentleman’s watch’.
