An exceptional 1920s rectangular 9ct gold Rolex wristwatch, with a stunning ‘guilloche’ dial!

A 1929, 9ct gold rectangular vintage Rolex watch. The case measures  25 x 37mm (including lugs), with 18mm lugs and is numbered, with reference 556 to the back. The case is signed Rolex, RWCLtd. (Rolex Watch Company Limited), 20 world’s Records, Geneva – Suisse and hallmarked Glasgow 1929. The manual wind, Extra Prima movement is signed Rolex, Swiss Made, with 15 jewels, Timed to 6 positions, For All Climates. The guilloche (engine-turned) dial has black Arabic numerals, with subsidiary seconds and fine blued steel ‘lances’ hands. The dial is signed Rolex above the centre.
