A rare early rectangular wristwatch from Rolex, with decorative engraving and hinged lugs!

A 1926, rare 9ct gold rectangular vintage Rolex watch, with hinged lugs. The case, with decorative engraving to the front and sides, measures  25 x 40mm (including lugs), with 18mm lugs and is numbered, with reference 641 to the back. The case is signed RWCLtd. (Rolex Watch Company Limited) and hallmarked Glasgow 1926. The manual wind, Prima movement is signed Rolex, Swiss Made, Timed 6 Positions, For All Climates, with 15 jewels. The ‘guilloche’ (engine-turned) dial has black Arabic numerals with subsidiary seconds and fine blued steel ‘cathedrales’ hands. The dial is signed Rolex above the centre.
