1930s rectangular vintage Jaeger LeCoultre watch

A steel rectangular vintage Jaeger LeCoultre watch. The case measures 20 x 38 mm (including lugs) with a new Jaeger LeCoultre black ostrich skin strap. The case is signed Fab. Suisse, Staybrite to the back and numbered 25373. The jewelled Swiss movement is signed Jaeger LeCoultre and numbered . The champagne dial has black Arabic numerals alternated with black baton hour indicators, with an inner centre-sweep seconds track, and blued steel hands. The dial is signed Jaeger LeCoultre above the centre.

The LeCoultre family began watchmaking in 1833 and opened the first watch manufactory in 1866 in the Vallee de Joux, LeCoultre & Cie.. In 1903 Jaques-David LeCoultre and Edmond Jaeger (a French jeweller) began working together to produce the thinnest watch movements in the world. In 1937 the company was officially renamed Jaeger-LeCoultre.
