An early vintage Universal ‘Compax’ Chronograph watch, in fabulous condition!

A 1945, 18ct gold round vintage Universal Compax Chronograph watch. The case measures 33mm in diameter with 18mm lug size. The case is signed Universal, Geneve, marked Swiss and numbered to the back with reference 12228. The manual wind, calibre 283 movement is signed Universal, Geneve, numbered, with 17 jewels . The champagne dial has Arabic numerals, with three subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12 hours, 30 minute registers and date, with an outer tachometer graduation and fine blued steel hands. The dial is signed Universal, Geneve above the centre, with Compax below.
