An early vintage rectangular steel waterproof Bravington wristwatch. The Staybrite steel case measures 23 x 39 (including lugs). The case was designed by Francis Baumgartner (designer of many early waterproof watch cases including the Rolex Oyster). The case has a snap on back, secured by two clips. The design is similar to the Omega Marine Standard and Jaeger LeCoultre waterproof wristwatches of the same period. The Swiss movement has 15 jewels. The dial has luminous Arabic numerals with a subsidiary seconds dial. The dial is signed Bravington, London above the centre. Bravingtons were a renowned jewellers in Kings Cross, London, who retailed watches under their own name.

This is a very early rare example of a waterproof rectangular watch and very collectable.
