1920s 18ct two-colour gold square vintage Rolex watch (3987)

An extremely rare 18ct gold vintage Rolex wristwatch. The square two colour gold case is curved to the wrist and has flared sides. The case measures 27 x 41 mm (including lugs). The case (model 912) is signed R.W.C. Ltd (Rolex Watch Company Limited), Rolex 7 Worlds Record, Geneva-Suisse and is hallmarked Glasgow 1928. The Rolex Prima movement is timed to 6 positions, for all climates with 15 jewels. The dial has Arabic numerals, fine blued steel hands, with a subsidiary seconds dial. The dial is signed Rolex above the centre.

This design of case was clearly influenced by the design of the ‘Rolex Prince’ which was being made at the same time. At the time Rolex marketed the model as An elegant gentleman’s watch.

A stunning Rolex watch, evocative of the decadent ‘Roaring 20’s’!
