1940s steel vintage Jaeger LeCoultre ‘RAF Pilots’ watch
A round steel vintage Jaeger LeCoultre watch. The case measures 31.5 mm in diameter. The case is signed Acier Inoxydable Fab. Suisse to the inside and numbered to the back, with military engraving showing the watch was issued by the Ministry of Defence, the 6B/159 indicates the watch was issued to the RAF. The 470 calibre movement is signed Jaeger-LeCoultre, Swiss, with 17 jewels and numbered. The dial has black Arabic numerals with fine blued steel hands, with centre-sweep seconds. The dial is signed LeCoultre above the seconds.
These watches were issued to the RAF in the 1940s and are now sought after and very collectable.
